Recently we installed a new flv / mp3 player on our site at www.pcplanets.com. Details on the player can be found here:
[url removed, login to view]
Now we require some modifications to the player which require some actionscript coding to allow playing of YouTube videos using this player and adding youtube videos to our playlists.
For this we need to modify new FLV/MP3 player:
Now playlist is passed to the player in following XML format:
<?xml version="1.0"?><playlist> <item><filename>http://URL1</filename><title> [^] <item><filename>http://URL2</filename><title> [^] ... </playlist>
In addition to this we need it to understand following items: <item><youtube>http://www.youtube.com/v/cSapsoC_YXM</youtube><title> [^]
where [url removed, login to view] [^] is URL to youtube player. Pcplanets player must load youtube player, grab URL of the FLV file from it and show FLV.
How to grab URL is described here: [url removed, login to view] [^] They even give working code to insert into the player. This method is preferable to using PHP, which results in additional traffic and server load.
Inside the player using actionscript it is done completely on client side. I think to do it in actionscript inside the player is the more preferable way. Coder must have good rankings and experience with actionscript as well ability to begin work immediately.
There are 2 versions of the code provided here [url removed, login to view]:
1) For Flex 2.0/ActionScript 3.0, which works in all browsers. See this example: [url removed, login to view] (I took it from the page above)
Is it possible to change player to use ActionScript 3.0 instead of ActionScript 2.0?
