DCS is a growing company developing an innovative new application for wide-spread consumer use. The application relies heavily on XML for data exchange, storage and display.
DCS is looking for a front-end developer who can take XML, VB, DHTML and XSL, put them in a pot, stir and create something useful and user-friendly. This first job entails working with the head of DCS to develop a look and feel for the display of our XML information, creating the needed XSL templates for this display and integrating this all into the VB6 application. If all goes well, more UI work will follow.
The application in question will require you designing the look/feel and layout for the XML we send over. The user will be interacting with the displayed page via a webBrowser component inside VB. Certain "clicks" on links will need to trigger events from within VB. You need to be experienced in doing this.
We will only consider those with strong expertise in UI design, XSL template creation, VB and XML and visual basic form design. Resumes are helpful but FAR less important then sending over actual XSL templates that you have created (or links to such) as well as screen shots of VB forms or other applications you have developed
Please send over links to sample XSL code you have developed or a complete VB app that shows your ability to display XML and interact with the code. For example, in our application you will be displaying a list of active "widgets" and the user will need to be able to click on a widget to view the widget details, edit the widget setting (this is done through a triggered vb event) or jump to a different XSL page showing more widgets. I will need to see samples of similar work.
We will NOT consider anyone who does not submit samples. Sorry but we need to know what we are getting before we hire.
We develop in VB6 using MSXML3.0.
We use the webBrowser component in vb.
