I have a small database (in Excel or Access) consisting of employee name, employee number and phone extension. I want to create an intranet web page on which users can enter an employee's last name in an emptly box and have the employee's number and phone extension displayed. I know HTML but don't know how to enable a query a database. I have a Windows 2000 Professional computer running IIS attached to the network. I want employees to just get the query results in their web browser. Can anyone provide me with instructions or direct me to a website with instructions for script and whatever else I might use that will allow me to query the database? Thank you for your help.
