PHP Order Integration and Customer Tracking

We process customers orders via a call center and from our website, and we have two projects requiring PHP programming skills.

We would like orders from online customers to interact with our internal order processing system. This will require writing PHP code to take user data from a website form and submit it to our internal web service (which is already written and not part of this project).

Secondly, we need to track users who come to our website from various PPC ads.

We would like orders from online customers to interact with our internal order processing system. This will require writing PHP code to take user data from a website form and submit it to our internal web service (which is already written and not part of this project).

Our webservice is internal and is SOAP 1.2. We have a VPN tunnel from our webserver to an internal server running the webservice.

We can redirect to a generic response page. However, the PHP code needs to make sure that there is an acknowledgment from the webservice or the user will need to fill out the form again. The form is already created.

PPC Ad Tracking Description

For the PPC portion, we have a few (2-4) basic query string parameters that get passed from the PPC campaign, and we need those parameters stored as a cookie. If/when the user fills out the form (from part 1), we need those variables passed along with the form data (name, addresss, etc.) to the web service.

We want to know what (if any) ad campaign brought the user to our site to fill out the form. Hopefully this explanation will help.

If a user clicks an ad related to a campaign A, ideally we would like to send them to a landing page that is NOT NECESSARILY the form page (there will be some related query string parameter, e.g. ?campaign=A, passed along from Google AdWwords). As soon as they click a link, that query string parameter is lost, meaning if they then decide to navigate to the form, we can't link it back to the original campaign.

Our thinking was that when the user hits the landing page, we could create a cookie with the PPC query string parameter (e.g. campaign, etc.). Then, if/when the user eventually fills out the form, we can still keep track of the original campaign that led them to the site.

Moreover, we would like to use the cookie value to change the phone number displayed. For example, if the user came from campaign A then "img src=[url removed, login to view]" and if campaign B then "img src=phoneCampaignB"?

I'm open to your ideas if you feel there is a more effective way to address this problem.
