First Class Bachelor of Science Graduate seeks professional website that will drawer the attention of prospective employers. Currently I work as the IT Manager for a major cruise company, and have previously ran my own independent organization in the web hosting/design area.
The content of the website will be nothing complex nor will the site be added to that regularly. On the surface of things, it is a basic website that is to sell me as a product. But, I want the coding to be solid, and up-to-date. I want the design to be creative, exciting, professional and eye-catching, but again; I must stress professional (no big flash animations etc.).
The coding and designing I'm open minded with, but I'd like to hear your input on how you'd approach the project and your ideas. What languages? HTML5/Ajax? Or just standard CSS/PHP. The content for this website I know about, but for how it will look and be designed is something I want pitched to me. You guys know more about this field and you know more about design/coding - so I want to hear you give me some ideas that excites me, and will impress the visitors, but not detract from the main site purpose.
I also need a page that will show external links. I'm going to link to my already created blog (not live yet), which is about IT and Business.
It may also link to my twitter, and also my linkedin profile. Any other suggestions on integrating things or how to make it impress is in your very creative minds. I'm excited to hear from you and your thoughts, let's see what you guys have in your arsenal.
I don't think it is that big a project for someone who is technically sound, but nevertheless it is an important one to me.
The target audience for this will be senior management in the IT & Business industry so you must understand the importance in having the correct image when targeting these type of people through a website.
