I would like to integrate (or add) overture keyword results with the 'competition finder' GPL script from SEOBook - [url removed, login to view]
so when i type in a keyword into a form, it is checked on overture and then the resulting keywords (with times searched) are put into competition finder which then checks amount of results for the keywords in google.
all the results are then put into a table - competition finder already creates a table so it is just a case of adding in the overture times searched number as well.
(the competition finder displays regular results, allintitle, allinanchor and both allintitle + allinanchor together.)
then i want to have extra columnss on the table that show a R/S ratio i.e. the google results from competiton finder over the times searched from overture.
eg if there are 1000 results from Google and the keyword has been searched for on overture 10,000 times this will be 1000/10000 with a R/S of 0.10
a script I have that nearly does this all of this is at [url removed, login to view] but it does not use the google api like competiton finder.
also, i would like to be able to select different country versions of overture.
I didn't realise that the google API key used in competition finder was no longer available :(
The research.php script I mentioned just does a preg match on results "of about ?" using www.google.com/search?
This works in most cases but the format changes slightly when results are under 10.
research.php is limited i.e. it does not do allintitle and allinanchor. I think it could be updated easily enough to include this in the same style that competition finder does.
The other thing I don't like about it is that it can be unreliable - sometimes the results pages do not come out with the table headers etc.
So the project is now a case of redoing the research.php script with allintitle etc and R/S. Plus adding country select for overture.
