I need to collect data from a website to use for a research project. I have an API key that allows for a sufficient number of queries. The API is REST based and provides data in XML or JSON. I would need a PHP or Java expert to collect a large number of data. For someone with the right level of experience the task should not take more than 1 hour. I would like the input in a delimited file - csv would be ideal. I tried to download the data using Python (there is a third-party library for this website but it's deprecated) but I know nothing of PHP and Java.

Please share sample output of REST API. What will be the size of response? frequency? Does this contains any file transfer or any other decoding required or plain text?
