We have a price comparison site. Datafeeds are parsed into a MYSQL database, and then changes to titles made via the panel below. When the feeds are updated, the entire "products" table is refreshed and then any changes made by us (stored in "product2" table) are applied again to the "product" table.

This script allows the admin to rename and recategorise products.
The admin is able to rename any product, and click save. By doing this, the entry in the "product" table is immediately changed - this is the main table used. The details of the change are also added to the product2 table so the changes can be restored after feeds are updated.
However, it does not work with some products. Try renaming any product to "Magimix Nespresso M100" (no quotes).
I renamed two products to the "Magimix Nespresso M100", but now cannot. No change data is entered into the "product2" table, nor is the "product" table changed.
The problem only occurs when another product has already been renamed to the name you're trying to rename this product to. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't - I have successfully renamed multiple products to the same name before.
Your job will be to find, explain and fix the source of the problem. I should be able to use the admin panel to categorise and rename products without the problem occuring.
It shouldn't take long to fix once you've familiarised yourself with the admin panel, but it's not a simple script.
The winner of the bid will be able to count on future work from myself, as I need somebody who understands the script to carry out work on a regular basis.
Give yourself an hour to work out the system and do some testing, an hour to sort the script out and maybe half an hour to document/explain - should be 2 - 2.5 hrs max for a good coder.
If you have any questions, please write and I'll do my best to answer.
