Internationsl Shipping Database for VirtueMart

Create shipping and tracking component for an international shipping company. The company ships packages, automobiles, crates, heavy duty equipment, and much more.

Project Details: This project was originally started using Microsoft Access. The MS Access database will be sent to give you an idea of what is needed. This database will be migrated to a web-based database using php with MySQL backend. The current .sql file will be sent (with sample data) for the tables that will be used in this project.

The current tables include:

a. Agents: Foreign agents with contact information

b. Consignee: Person / company who will be receiving the shipment

c. Carrier: Company that will be used to transport the shipment (Air / Ocean)

d. Port: List of all domestic and international ports and codes

e. Contents: Detail of items to be shipped

f. Employee: Employee that made the sale

g. Customers: Use Virtuemart tables

h. Rates: This table is needed to set the individual shipping rates for each individual countries based upon the commodities that are being shipped.

Input Forms Required:

a. Orders: Main order input form that contains link from the above tables.

b. Booking: Information that contains information when a shipment is booked.

c. Agent: Information from Agent table

d. Carrier: Information for steam ship or airline that will be used as a mode of transportation.

e. Employees: Information from Employees table

Must be capable of generating reports

a. Shipping manifest (samples will be furnished)

b. Report sorted in various orders (alphabetical, by date, by carrier, monthly sales, quarterly sales, annually sales, categories, etc.)

c. Bill of Lading (samples will be furnished)

d. Invoice

e. Custom shipping labels

Orders must be able to be placed online by the customer or by employees at the office. Employees must be capable of inputting orders for the products in the VirtueMart front end in the event of a phone order. This company also sells products online (boxes, barrels, custom crates, packaging accessories, etc.) via the VirtueMart shopping cart as well as by phone. Therefore, employees will also and have access to modify orders based on the permissions set in the VirtueMart shopping cart.

Customers must have the capability of book a shipment online. Shipments are based upon both weight as well as dimensions (length, width and height). Customer should be able to input their weight and dimensions and get a rate quote of one or more items combined depending upon port of origin as well as the destination port.

Payment method will be used as defined in VirtueMart shopping cart. For example: Credit card, PayPal, etc.

Component should include percent discount or coupon discount as used in the VirtueMart shopping cart.

Must have the capability of tracking the status of their shipment online.

Component must be compatible to Joomla 1.0.x and Joomla 1.5
