Optimize and maintain custom barcode scanning system for shipping. We hired an electronics firm to setup a barcode scanning system. It works but sometimes loses data. The original company no longer has a programmer. The scanner system uses handheld wireless portable barcode scanners with a custom program. The program asks the user for a sales order number which is then input manually. Then the program prompts the user to scan each item. If the item has a serial number, then it will prompt to scan the serial number. If the item does not have a serial number, the user is prompted for a quantity. When the order is complete, the information is pushed into an SQL database via wifi. We have three handheld scanners, all the same model, but only one is reliable. The other two lose data when uploading to the server. Our future goal is to link the scanner program directly to our order system, Sage 100, so the user knows when the order is complete.

Hello, What handheld series you currently have? I may review the apps, and if possible we could reverse engineer the apps for retrieving the app's source code and we could do the app update. Hi, I have seen this kind of situations where information is not fully stored in the systems, having said that, my approach is to double check data integrity in the system while scanning. I am experienced on low and high level programming, from programming hardware to web sites. I have experience on C/C++, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL and ZPL, which is a native language to program Zebra printers and create custom labels.
