The initial version of the app will keep people safe by letting them check-in daily to show they are ok. For the user there would be a button on their phone that they push every day. If they don't do it, the next level of contact person is notified to check on them. If the second level/close neighbor, relative or friend can't contact them then the third level/emergency contact is notified. Users receive a text if they don't check in within their own set time parameters. It should also include an emergency button option, which will notify emergency personnel. Reporting check-ins to designated contacts could be via email, text or posted to a website where their designated people (3rd level contacts) could check their status, or all of the above could be choices. The app could be free for check-in only, but could charge for any direct contact to emergency personnel, which would require more backend work. There is an app on the market already, called Snug, that offers some of these features but has a limited check-in time range, and notification of check-in or not, but charges for enhanced notifications.
