We are looking for someone to develop an Ubuntu Linux command line executable utility that parses data from hinted Quicktime movies and returns an EDL (edit decision list) of the edits that appear in the hinted movie relative to its original source. Specifically, the utility will take as its input the path to a hinted quicktime movie file. The utility will analyze the hinted movie and output an array containing an edit decision list. The edit decision list will contain every in and out edit pair that differentiates the hinted movie file from it's original movie file. Edits should be specified in seconds and fractions of seconds relative to the beginning of the original movie file. We use Quicktime 7 Pro on both windows and mac to create these hinted files. We can provide several example hint files along with the corresponding desired results.
