SugarCRM Emails Not Populating in Client Files/History

When we check emails in SugarCRM is used to tie into clients history in CRM. For example if I check our general mailbox and [url removed, login to view] was in our system as a lead or an account, from inbox automatically that communication from [url removed, login to view] would be in their history. Currently the system only tracks what we send out right from customer file in CRM. I know in the past anything we did to [url removed, login to view] would show up in history.
