Please oly bid if you know you can do this as I cant afford to waste anymore time on this.
OK, so thats the gritty stuff out the way :)
Here is my problem..
Each product has a weight assigned to it, and when you get to the checkout all the weights are added together to create a 'grand total' and drop the 'whole' order into the correct delivery band..ok, no problems there.
The problem I have however, is I have a client who requires the delivery cost to be worked out using the following method.
Example. (These are just to help you understand the principle)
Item A weighs 100grams
Item B weighs 200grams
Item C weighs 300grams
Item D weighs 400grams
Upto 100g - £1.00
100g - 200g - £2.00
200g - 300g - £3.00
300g - 400g - £4.00
400g - 1500g - £6.00
Suppoing a customer purchases all 4 items then the total weight would be 1000grams (1kilo)
The system then find the correct delivery charge for 1kg in this case it would be £6.00
My client method however is this,
Add the lowest delivery charge (Item A) to the highest delivery charge (Item D) to give the total which would be £1.00 + £4.00 = £5.00
To complicate things further a flat fee of £5.95 is charged for any order over £35 regardless of weight.
And the minimum deliver charge for a single low weight item is £1.50 (equivelent to Item A x2), but if the customer purchases multiple items then the lowest weight (100g) is charged at [url removed, login to view] + highest weight charge.
Maximum charge regardless of number of items should always be Lowest + Highest
Anyone handle this?
