I have an Excel workbook that holds a few hundred tasks, each row already filled out with multiple headers (i.e. tasks, subtasks, rich-text description, priority, start and due date, etc.). For this, I need a Power Automate cloud flow template that will read an excel spreadsheet and distribute contents to Microsoft Planner buckets. Here is what matters: • Every header and their content must transfer in full, with formatting preserved as much as Planner allows. • I want the flow to run on demand (manually triggered), but the logic should be easy to switch to a schedule later. • Error handling is important: if a row is incomplete or fails, log the issue and continue with the next task rather than stopping the run. Deliverable: a fully built, tested flow (.zip export or direct build in my tenant) plus a short walkthrough or screen share that shows me how to adjust column mappings if the sheet structure changes.

Hi, Using power automate, Your Excel must be structured like this: Convert range Table (Ctrl + T) Ensure stable column names: Task Name Description (rich text if possible) Priority Start Date Due Date Bucket Name (or ID mapping column) Optional: Assigned To, Labels, Checklist items so, Power Automate only reliably reads tables, not raw sheets. Before automation, create a Planner Plan, create Buckets (these will map from Excel column or logic) And optionally define Labels (Priority mapping), Assignments. And then manually trigger a flow or later you can replace with “Recurrence” schedule. If you hire me, I'll dedicate my entire time to your project. Let us discuss the more about your project Thank you.

Hi, I can build a Power Automate cloud flow that reads your Excel workbook row by row and creates the corresponding Microsoft Planner tasks in the correct buckets. I’d set it up as a manual trigger first, while keeping the structure easy to switch to a scheduled trigger later. The flow would map all required Excel headers to Planner fields, including task title, description, priority, start/due dates, bucket, checklist/subtasks where supported, and any extra details Planner can store. I’d add row-level error handling so incomplete or failed rows are logged with the row number, task name, error message, and timestamp, while the flow continues processing the remaining tasks. Question 1: Is your Excel data already formatted as an official Excel Table in OneDrive or SharePoint? Question 2: Should missing Planner buckets be created automatically, or should failed rows be logged if the bucket does not exist? Regards, Houssame

Hi I can build a Power Automate cloud flow that reliably reads your Excel workbook and distributes each row into Microsoft Planner buckets with full field mapping and structured error handling. I’ll design the flow to pull all task data (including subtasks, priority, dates, and descriptions) while preserving formatting as closely as Planner allows. The trigger will be manual by default, but I’ll structure it so you can easily switch to a scheduled run later without rebuilding the logic. To ensure reliability, I’ll implement row-level error handling so any incomplete or failed entries are logged separately while the flow continues processing the rest. I’ll also map your Excel headers dynamically so you can adjust column structure later without breaking the automation. Final delivery will include a fully tested flow (importable .zip or direct tenant build) plus a short walkthrough showing how to update mappings and maintain it. Let’s connect so I can review your workbook structure and align the Planner bucket setup before building. Best Regards, Fizza Nadeem K

Hi, I can build a Power Automate cloud flow that reads your Excel workbook and creates tasks in Microsoft Planner with the correct bucket, dates, priority, descriptions, and other details. The flow will be manually triggered, but I'll design it so it's easy to change to a scheduled run later. I'll also add error handling so if a row has missing data or fails, the flow logs the issue and continues with the remaining tasks. Once everything is tested, I'll provide the flow export (or build it directly in your Microsoft 365 tenant) and give you a short walkthrough showing how to update the column mappings if your Excel file changes. I can start right away and deliver a reliable, easy-to-maintain solution. Best regards.

The error-handling requirement you called out is the hard part — most people let a bad row kill the whole run. I'll wrap each row in a try-catch, log failures to a separate "errors" sheet tab with the row index and reason, then continue so you get partial success instead of zero output when something's malformed. I've built similar bulk migration flows (invoicing platform with 81-table sync, PDF pipeline handling 500+ pages). For this I'd use Power Automate cloud flow with manual trigger, Excel Online connector to read rows, Apply to each loop with error scope per task, Planner API calls to create tasks with all your headers mapped, and a parallel Append to Excel action that logs any row that fails validation or API rejection. If you can share access to the Excel file structure and your Planner workspace I can confirm column mapping and test a pilot batch. Once I verify the schema I'll build the full flow in your tenant, export the zip, and record a quick walkthrough showing how to adjust mappings when headers change. More at ffulb.com. Hello, For a client migrating 300+ tasks from Excel to Azure DevOps, I built a Power Automate flow that preserved all fields and handled incomplete rows without crashing. The import ran cleanly twice, catching only one formatting edge case that was fixed in the second pass. I'd approach this using Power Automate’s built-in Excel and Planner connectors because it keeps maintenance low while staying inside Microsoft 365. The real work is in mapping nested task structures and handling transient field mismatches before they reach Planner. I’ll keep every action logged so failed rows are easy to spot and retry. The flow will run only when you trigger it, but the trigger can be swapped for a schedule later without rewriting logic. This turns a manual Excel cleanup into a reliable, repeatable import that won’t break on the next sheet update. If it looks useful, I can drop the template in your tenant and record a two-minute walkthrough. I sincerely hope the project is completed successfully and exceeds your expectations.

Greetings, I can see that you need a Power Automate flow to migrate your tasks from Excel to Microsoft Planner, ensuring that all content and formatting are preserved. My approach would involve creating a custom cloud flow that reads each row from your workbook, transfers the data to the appropriate Planner buckets, and includes robust error handling to log any issues without stopping the entire process. With 5+ years of experience in automation and data integration, I've successfully built similar solutions that streamline workflows while maintaining data integrity. I’ll also provide you with a walkthrough to make column adjustments easy in the future. One question I have is: are there any specific requirements for how the tasks should be categorized in Planner beyond the default buckets? Best regards, Ezekiel Isis Young

Migrating a few hundred Excel rows into Planner is doable with Power Automate, but getting the column-to-field mapping right on the first pass is where most people waste time. I would build a reusable flow so future tasks sync automatically, not just a one-time push. Can start today and have it working by end of weekend. The bid reflects what's in the description. Final numbers come after we walk through your exact column layout together. Want to jump on a quick call?

Hello, there! I can build a Power Automate cloud flow that reads your Excel workbook and distributes tasks into Microsoft Planner buckets while preserving all transferable fields (tasks, subtasks, descriptions, priority, and dates) as closely as Planner allows. The flow will be manually triggered, but structured so it can be converted to a scheduled run later without redesign. It will iterate through each Excel row, map fields to Planner tasks, and ensure consistent bucket assignment. Robust error handling will be included: if a row is incomplete or fails, the issue will be logged with row reference and error details, and the flow will continue processing remaining tasks without stopping. The solution will be modular so column mappings can be quickly adjusted if your Excel structure changes, without rebuilding the flow. Deliverables include a tested Power Automate flow (export or deployed in your tenant) and a short walkthrough showing how to adjust mappings. Kind regards, Aly Nurdin
