Spanish-Portuguese 2 PDFs Layout Restoration

I have two sizeable PDFs (310 + 418 pages) that were originally produced in InDesign and published in Spanish. We converted each file to Word, completed the Portuguese translation there, and—unsurprisingly—lost much of the original formatting. Your task is to rebuild the Portuguese version so it looks and feels like the Spanish source: same page flow, columns, headers, footers, image placement, tables, and graphics. Visual layout is the priority. I do not need pixel-perfect font matching; a close professional equivalent works, and I can request the originals if that will help you. All embedded elements—images, tables, and any call-out graphics—must be updated with the Portuguese text, although most of them don't have any text so it will just be about placing them in the correct spot. You are free to choose the workflow: re-create the document in InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or another layout program; or work directly inside the PDFs with Acrobat or any specialised tools. What matters is that the final deliverables meet these acceptance criteria: • Print-ready, high-resolution PDFs for each volume, mirroring the original visual structure page-by-page. • All Portuguese text correctly inserted without truncation, overset text, or broken hyphenation. • Not mandatory, but if possible: Clean, editable source files (INDD, AFPUB, or equivalent) so future updates are straightforward. If you have handled long-form multilingual DTP before, especially from Word conversions, I would love to see samples or a brief note on your preferred approach.
