I operate a small tourist attraction that transforms for Halloween and then again for Christmas. All the figures are mechanically and electrically ready; what I need now is clean, reliable programming so their movements line up perfectly with our lights and audio tracks. The scope is focused on code only. Each routine will run as a pre-programmed sequence—once we hit “start,” the figure, lighting cues, and soundtrack must stay in lock-step without any real-time triggers. You will receive: • A timing sheet for every scene • Audio files and lighting-cue lists • Controller specs (primarily DMX and Arduino-friendly boards) Deliverables: • Show files / scripts that drop straight into our controllers • Deployment notes and wiring pin-outs where relevant • A brief video or screen capture proving each sequence stays in sync First routine needs to be ready for testing by early October; the holiday overlay follows in mid-November. If you have experience programming haunted-house props, retail window displays, or similar show-control timelines, I’m eager to work with you. Let’s make these characters steal the show!

Hi I am an embedded systems engineer with over 16 years of experience. I have extensive experience with embedded controllers, DMX lighting, timed motion sequences and reliable field deployment for attractions, displays and consumer-grade products from concept through production. For your Halloween and Christmas scenes, I can take the timing sheets, audio tracks, lighting cue lists and controller specs and turn them into clean show files/scripts that run as fixed sequences, keeping the animatronics, lights and soundtrack in lock-step after start. I will keep the routines easy to deploy and maintain, with clear pin-outs, notes for each controller, and a short screen/video proof for each programmed scene before handoff. A few details I would confirm at the start are the exact controller models, number of figures/channels per routine, actuator types, and whether the audio playback is controlled from the same board or a separate show/audio player. I can also help with firmware-side adjustments if any timing drift, startup behavior, or safety interlock issue appears during testing. I can work in phases so the first routine is ready for early October testing, then continue with the holiday overlay for mid-November. Please contact me to discuss details.

Hi, Your project is exactly the kind of automation work I enjoy. I have experience developing reliable embedded control systems using Arduino and microcontrollers, with a strong focus on timing, sequencing, and dependable operation. From your description, I understand the priority is precise synchronization rather than live interaction. I'll develop clean, well-structured code that ensures each figure's movements remain perfectly aligned with your lighting cues and audio from the moment the show starts. My approach is to build deterministic, repeatable sequences that are easy to maintain and modify as your show evolves. For this project I can provide: Clean, documented Arduino/show-control code ready for deployment. Synchronization of mechanical movements, DMX lighting cues, and audio timelines. Wiring documentation and controller pin-out notes where required. Testing support and a demonstration video showing the complete sequence running in sync before delivery.

I understand you need reliable, pre-programmed animatronics sequences for your Halloween and Christmas events, ensuring movements are perfectly synchronized with your lights and audio tracks without real-time triggers. I've previously delivered precise timing synchronization for a themed walk-through attraction, resulting in a 20% increase in visitor engagement metrics. My approach involves using a combination of Arduino microcontrollers and custom C++ code to manage the timing and output signals for each animatronic. I will meticulously translate your timing sheets, audio files, and lighting cue lists into distinct, non-real-time routines for each figure, delivering fully compiled code ready for upload to your specified controllers. Given the focus on pre-programmed sequences, how are the controller specs defined in terms of input/output pin availability and any existing firmware limitations? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.

Hello, A recruiter from Freelancer suggested this job to me and, after giving it some thought, I decided to apply. This is something I can do, and I'm in Chester, close enough to be on site and I suspect thats important in this case. I'm an old hand at this type of work, my background is in low level programming. I've never programmed Arduino directly but I've done rPi, nVidia jetson, console dev-kits, GPS units, drones and all sorts of hardware. Interfacing and setup is just one of the specifics of the target device to me and I enjoy dealing with them. I see lots of questions ask about control systems. This makes sense given that most of these setups have a 'master clock' orchestrating the display. But I also notice that you mention 'without any real-time triggers' and clearly that matters to you. So who knows, maybe something in the setup could be purposed as a control pulse, perhaps thats not practically possible. So my first step would be to visit your location, see the hardware, look at the setup from a software perspective, discuss with you and proceed from there. I would be happy meet up before hiring if you could cover petrol costs. I might need a target device for local development too. I have all manner of them, but probably not what you are using. On the subject of budget, Freelancer suggested 4k, halfway between your min and max budget. Thats probably about right. Regards, Steve Tomlinson
