I am looking for an editor to whom I can subcontract overflow work from time to time. I am an editor myself but I sometimes have too much work and am looking to have a 'back-up'. This would only be occasional work and I am not sure when I would be able to call on you.
The work would involve substantial editing and proofreading (but not really rewriting) of academic papers and articles in the humanities and social sciences, written by non-native English speakers.
The quality of the writing is generally quite good but it is clearly not of the standard of a high quality, native English speaker. It is my (your) job to bring the writing up to that standard.
Please indicate your experience, particularly with academic writing/editing, and your availability. Please do not apply if you are not a native English speaker or do not have excellent written English skills. I will send a short unpaid 'test' (of around 200 words) to qualified applicants.
