I am looking for someone with experience critiquing books (non-fiction) however I am not looking for an in depth critique. I am not looking to hear weather you liked the book or not, I am just looking for someone to read it through and let me know where he/she feels I need to add more description, where they felt a little lost, or where i need help with dialogue, etc.
I do not want this to take a lot of time. (I had a woman critique it and two months later I got the first very generic critique- way over that)) I just want to get down to business; as a first time reader of the book, where, as the reader, do you need more from me the writer...? I do not want you to feel obligated to tell me this or that needs help (many parts may be fine), the book runs on a fast rhythm and that needs to be taken into account, I only want to know exactly where you need more from the writer as the reader... Also if there are any contradictions that I am not noticing.. If this doesn't make sense, please ask.
I have read the book so many time I have it memorized so I need someone with a fresh outlook on it to tell me, this contradicts itself, I felt a little lost here, or that dialogue needs a little work, etc. (those are the three main issues I want really)
The language in the book is very strong and the subject matter is highly of drugs and a little sex, so this kind of material must not offend you. It is a 40K word book and it has been edited once already.
If you have dealt with the publishing industry in any way a big plus.
When sending your bid, please include
1. your experience in the business,
2. how long you think it will take
3. your three favorite authors both living and deceased.
Look forward to hearing form you!
P.S- I am taking bids now but we will get started in about a weeks time...
