Job Description:
Hello,
I am looking for an experienced programmer in the creation of 3D reconstruction software to develop a solution capable of generating a detailed, accurate, and consistent 3D model from 2D images taken with a smartphone.
Project Requirements:
1) Advanced knowledge of Structure from Motion (SfM) algorithms for reconstructing 3D models from 2D images taken at different angles.
2) Experience with camera calibration and distortion correction to obtain accurate and usable images.
3) Familiarity with open-source libraries such as OpenCV, which offer advanced functionality for image processing and 3D reconstruction.
4) Ability to program in Python, which is the preferred language for this project. Knowledge of other high-level languages such as C++ or MATLAB is a plus, but Python is strongly preferred.
Project Details:
1) The software must handle a moderate number of images (100-300 images in formats such as JPEG, PNG, HEIF, RAW).
2) Images are taken with a smartphone.
3) Images cover the entire subject at 360 degrees.
4) Lighting conditions may not always be optimal.
Project Objectives:
1) Create a detailed and accurate 3D model from the provided images.
2) Optimize the workflow to handle the image set and reduce processing time.
3) Provide the final 3D model in a common format, such as OBJ or STL, along with texture maps and materials, if applicable.
The software does not require a graphical interface. It should include an "input" folder with the images to be analyzed and an "output" folder in which to insert the resulting 3D model.
