We have 3D scans of orthotics (from a 3D scanner) that we can save as either IGES or STL files (a sample screenshot is attached, [url removed, login to view]). We need someone to take these files, clean up and render them, and output as 3DS files.
Lighting, etc is not required. We will be using the 3DS files with this Flash plugin: [url removed, login to view]
The project will be in several sections:
A single orthotic. You will need to create a texture for the orthotic (we can provide digital images as necessary). We can then make sure that the resulting 3DS file is of suitable quality. The orthotics are grey all round (digital photo of a finished orthotic is attached).
As above, but for different source files (different orthotics). As the texture is already worked out this step should be easy. Approximately 216 variations.
Step 3 - not for this project
Each of the 216 variations in Step 2 have further variations. Each variation can have different covers that can be glued onto the orthotic (eg. a leather cover). Different covers would need their own textures. This step is not part of the project, but is here to show the big picture.
Here is a digital photo I took earlier. This sample is old and a little dirty, but it gives the general idea of texture and colour.
We are organising better quality photos of the original material (comes in a rectangle block) which will be available soon.
