I’m looking for an experienced 3D character animator/animation team to help develop an original cartoon-style animated musical feature called The Star Chase Movie. The project follows the life of singer-songwriter Chenai Boucher, from growing up in regional Queensland and dreaming of becoming a performer, through years of auditions and rejection, moving to Melbourne, relationships, loss, songwriting, building an album independently, and ultimately walking onto the stadium stage she imagined as a child. Music is central to the film. Original songs drive the story and transition the audience into different animated worlds. The tone moves between funny, colourful, magical, emotional and cinematic, while heavier moments are handled sensitively and symbolically. The film also has its own character universe, including plush-style animal characters, an angel and devil character, a recurring eagle, a little blue cowboy hat, stars, sunflowers and other visual motifs. These characters and objects connect directly to songs and moments in the story. I already have substantial development completed, including: * Detailed master story/plot * Approximately 200 visual storyboard/reference images * Character and plush concepts * Song catalogue and lyrics * Visual references and branding * Key environments and locations * Major scene concepts * Recurring symbols and character arcs I am looking for someone who can help turn this existing material into a cohesive, professional animated film, rather than starting the concept from scratch. Style: polished, cinematic, cartoonish 3D animation with expressive characters, strong lighting, beautiful Australian landscapes, magical musical sequences and concert/stadium environments. Important: I would like to discuss producing the project in stages rather than immediately committing to the entire film. The first stage could include character/style development and a short proof-of-concept or selected scene. If we work well together, the goal is to continue into the complete film. Please include examples of previous 3D character animation, animated films, music-based animation or cinematic storytelling. I would also like to know what software you use, whether you work independently or with a team, your estimated production workflow, and what materials you would need from me to begin. Please do not apply if your portfolio does not demonstrate actual character animation.

The Star Chase Movie follows Chenai Boucher from regional Queensland to the stadium stage, and the original songs are what carry the audience between the animated worlds. Your brief does not say how many minutes of finished animation the first stage covers, and it does not say whether the songs are already recorded. Those two decide whether we animate to a locked track or to a scratch, so I settle them with you first. I would start with one musical sequence end to end, style frames, character sheets, layout, animation and final render, so you can see the look and the pipeline working before committing the feature. Three rounds of revision, that sequence delivered in 30 days with the project files. 3D animation and post-production are the daily work at Azabache Producciones. With my expertise in 3D character animation and design, combined with your detailed development work, we can create a captivating, polished, and expressive film experience for 'The Star Chase Movie'. My extensive portfolio showcases my strong command over 3D modeling, visualization, and animation, skills that are key to bring the charming plush-style animal characters of your universe to life. In addition, I've a knack for rendering beautiful landscapes that will perfectly capture the essence of Australian locations you envision. One aspect that stood out to me about this project is the crucial role music plays. Having worked on music-based animations before, I understand its power to drive narratives and elicit emotions. And as an added advantage: I'm fluent in English perfect for a streamlined communication process. Regarding software, I'm (list software), and would be delighted to go over my estimated production workflow once we connect. Considering the incredible amount of groundwork you have already laid down, I agree that producing the project in stages is a wise choice. This approach allows us to build trust through a proof-of-concept or selected scene while maximizing efficiency and minimizing risks.

I understand you're seeking a 3D character animator for "The Star Chase Movie," aiming for a vibrant, cartoonish style akin to the expressive character work seen in recent animated features that blend humor with emotional depth. My experience in bringing stylized characters to life with dynamic performances directly aligns with this need. My approach will involve leveraging Blender for its robust character rigging and animation tools, allowing for fluid, exaggerated movements suitable for a cartoon aesthetic. I'll focus on establishing clear emotional arcs for Chenai, translating her journey of ambition, struggle, and triumph through expressive facial animation and body language, underscored by the musical numbers. Storyboarding key emotional beats and collaborating closely on character design feedback will ensure the animation serves the narrative effectively. To ensure a perfect fit, could you share any specific stylistic references for the cartoonish look you envision? I'm eager to discuss how my animation process can bring Chenai's story to life. Let's connect to explore this further.

The vibrant journey of Chenai Boucher is both inspiring and complex, making it essential to capture the emotional nuances and magical elements of her story through animation. My experience with character-driven narratives in 3D animation aligns perfectly with your vision for The Star Chase Movie. Having worked on similar projects where music is integral, I understand how to weave animated sequences with original songs, creating a cohesive experience. My team and I specialize in polished cartoonish styles, with strong lighting and expressive characters, ensuring every scene resonates with the audience. As a first step, I suggest developing character styles and a short proof-of-concept to establish visual direction. This will allow us to assess our collaboration effectively. I use software like Blender and Maya, and can provide a detailed workflow once we discuss your specific needs. What key scenes or characters should we prioritize for the initial proof-of-concept? Best, Junaid

Hello, I reviewed the project, and the main challenge is turning the existing storyboards, characters, music, and visual motifs into a consistent cinematic 3D language that can carry both the emotional story and musical sequences. I would approach the initial stage around character performance, visual development, animation style, and a focused proof of concept so the storytelling, lighting, environments, and musical transitions are established before expanding further. I have experience with 3D character animation, cinematic storytelling, and animated music sequences, and can share relevant character animation examples once we connect in chat. Also a quick question, do you already have the main characters fully modeled and rigged, or would the initial stage need to establish those assets as well? Best Regards, GridSmithLTD

Consider this ✍️The key to creating a successful animated film is understanding the emotional journey of the characters. I understand the importance of character development in storytelling, especially for a musical feature like The Star Chase Movie. You mentioned the need for polished, cinematic quality and expressive characters. What usually matters most here is ensuring the animation elevates the music and narrative seamlessly. I have worked on similar animated films where character animation was vital for audience engagement. So I know the challenges of conveying emotion through 3D animation. My approach would involve: • Analyzing your existing character and plush concepts thoroughly. • Developing a short proof-of-concept to showcase style. • Collaborating closely during the character/style development phase. • Incorporating the unique visual motifs into animated sequences. • Utilizing software like Blender or Maya for quality results. What specific elements of the character universe do you envision needing the most focus first? Best, Kurt.

Hi there! The real challenge here isn't animating individual scenes - it's maintaining visual and emotional consistency across a feature where music is doing the storytelling work. Each song needs its own visual language while still feeling like one cohesive world. That's partly a technical problem, but mostly a directional one. I'd approach this by establishing clear style guidelines early, then building a few key scenes that become the north star for everything else. The proof-of-concept stage you mentioned makes sense for exactly this reason - it lets us nail the look and workflow before committing to full production. I work solo using Blender and handle character animation, layout, and rendering. I'd need your storyboards, character designs, and a reference track to get started. Worth a conversation? Corné
