PROJECT SUMMARY:Perform a comprehensive active Radio Frequency (RF) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) site survey across six (6) dormitory buildings totaling approximately 308,943 sq. ft. at Tyndall AFB, FL. The objective is to evaluate coverage, capacity, signal propagation, and interference to support long-term wireless infrastructure planning. Frequency Bands: Measure and evaluate coverage across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz (Wi-Fi 6E/7) bands. Methodology: Utilize an AP-on-a-Stick (APaaS) setup to simulate real-world access point propagation, signal attenuation through facility walls/doors, and optimal AP mounting [login to view URL] Coverage: Conduct continuous active and passive survey walkthroughs across designated corridors, common spaces, and representative living quarters within all 6 dormitory facilities. Required Data Collection: Signal Strength (RSSI) metrics (minimum -65 dBm target).Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and noise floor [login to view URL] coverage and overlap validation for roaming [login to view URL] overlap, co-channel interference (CCI), and adjacent channel interference (ACI). Required Tooling & Hardware The technician must arrive equipped with:Industry-standard diagnostic kit: Ekahau Sidekick / Sidekick 2 or NETSCOUT / AirMagnet Survey [login to view URL] APaaS rig (tripod/mast adjustable to ceiling height, battery pack, and a test enterprise AP).Laptop or tablet running current, licensed survey [login to view URL] PPE as required for base facility access. Deliverables Raw Survey Files: Complete, unedited .esx (Ekahau) or .amz (AirMagnet) project files uploaded to the platform upon site [login to view URL] Photos: High-resolution photos documenting recommended AP placement points, ceiling grid types, and notable structural obstructions.Sign-Off Sheet: Facility escort sign-in/sign-out verification.

Hello, Your Tyndall AFB project requires a disciplined RF/WLAN assessment across six dormitories, with reliable evidence for future wireless infrastructure planning. I can contribute an engineering-focused approach to validating 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz performance, including RSSI, SNR, noise floor, roaming overlap, CCI, and ACI. The AP-on-a-Stick methodology will help model realistic propagation, attenuation through walls and doors, and mounting locations. I will support careful walkthrough coverage of corridors, common areas, and representative living quarters while documenting structural obstructions and recommended AP positions. Electrical Engineering considerations will guide interpretation of building conditions and installation feasibility, while Telecommunications Engineering principles will keep the survey aligned with capacity and coverage objectives. RF Site Survey practices will be applied to preserve accurate measurements and produce the required raw project files, photos, and facility sign-off documentation. Could you confirm whether the base will provide an escort and access to representative occupied rooms during each survey window? I would welcome the opportunity to help create dependable survey data that supports a confident, long-term WLAN design decision. Muhammad Awais

RF signal propagation through concrete and steel structures is the primary risk here, I handle this with careful APaaS placement and iterative measurement. I will build out the WLAN site survey using Ekahau Pro and a spectrum analyzer, mapping coverage, capacity, and interference across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands to identify optimal AP locations for your wireless infrastructure planning. Will the survey need to account for any known sources of RF interference on base? I need a point of contact to coordinate access to the six dormitory buildings. My 5.0 rating across 10 reviews on here also means Preferred Freelancer status.

Being an Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the design and implementation of wireless networks, conducting a comprehensive RF and WLAN site survey is right within my area of expertise. I'm familiar with the specific tools required for this project, such as Ekahau Sidekick/Sidekick 2 and AirMagnet Survey PRO, as well as APaaS rigs. Additionally, I can handle the usage of licensed survey software like Ekahau or AirMagnet for data collection and analysis to deliver raw survey files with high accuracy. My proficiency in front-end/backend technologies like React.js, Node.js, Python and Flask ensures that the collected data will be efficiently processed while maintaining security and performance standards. My experience will not only allow me to accurately measure and evaluate RF coverage across various frequency bands (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz), but also perform signal-to-noise ratio analysis and secondary coverage validation. Lastly, I strongly believe in the power of open communication and efficient project management; two values which are essential for completing a task of this scale promptly and smoothly.
