My name is Miguel Velez and I work as creative director for production company. For a long time I have worked at commercials, music videos and have tried to finance my scripts through government funds. I've had enough of it and have raised some money to make the film I want without no one telling how to do it. My only client is my investor who supports what I am trying to accomplish. And yes, I want the movie to payback its cost.
I'm developing a romantic comedy taking place entirely inside a moving train in Europe. I have written the story and the treatment. I want to find a co-writer to write the script and help me bring out the gold within the concept. I got inspired by the movies of Wong Kar Wai, "Time of Being Wild" and "In the Mood for Love." I want the script to be nostalgic, romantic and funny. The comedy should come from the irony of being human and it should not feel like we are trying to be funny. I'm interested in the observation of people's struggle to find love and the struggle to keep once they have it. I want to explore the yearning for love and nostalgia for the passing of time.
I'm looking for a fun, insightful screenwriter with great dialogue [login to view URL] you are a talented screenwriter trying to break through the barrier of the first movie, hey, sounds like we can help each other.
I want to make a film that entertains me and inspires me. I am not interested in vulgarity (as most hollywood comedies have turned out to be). If you ask me which comedies I like, I would immediately suggest "As Good as it Gets" and the "Son of the Bride" the Argentinian film.
Zero politics!!! I am not interested in promoting any causes, no personal agendas. I want a humane story that can reach the heart of any soul.
This is a film I intend to do with 50-100 thousand dollars and shoot in October 2018.
