2D Game Physics [Chain links]

I need a script to simulate a chain anchored to a point. In the script I should be able to specify the amount of links and their distance fom each other [in pixels]. If the base of the chain moves, the links should naturally follow through. A good example is Simon Belmont's flailing whip attack in Castlevania IV and Richter Belmont's in Castlevania Syphony of the night. Other 2D Castlevania games featured this as well [Harmony of Dissonance, Portrait of ruin etc.] however their effect remains anchored a a base point. [not the action I need]

Lastly this must be implemented in GML which is a C-like scripting language tied to the Gamemaker 8 software.
