We have a web based application that exports some report data to an excel file. It does some very basic groupings. We want to create a macro that will complete the last of the clients formatting requirements. Col width changes, cell formatting types, etc.
So after the excel file is exported from the web, the macro would be run localy on the excel file and apply the formatting.
We are planning on storing the macro on the [url removed, login to view] file on the clients local computer.
We started to do this by simply “recording?? the needed actions. The problem we ran into is some of the data is displayed in scientific notation and needs to be changed to a number type to display correctly. But I cannot simply select one col to change all to number type because the group headings merged cols prevent me from being able to select one col. It is not possible for us to export the group heading without the merged cols.
We believe the correct solution is to edit the macros VBA code to apply the number type formatting to the correct column (col d in the enclosed example) and detect when the row is a group heading to skip it and proceed on so it does not change the type on the group heading.
1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement).
2) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
3) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Employer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Employer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the employer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this project.
Create a macro for the [url removed, login to view] file that applies formatting as shown in the other scanned pdf attached. The formatting is resize columns, add borders, bold header, add shading to header (not shown in example), and most importantly change column types to number while skipping group headers that we do not want to change the type on.
