Mac Scripting Help and Instruction Required

We have a mac mini server with shared master library. Content is being purchased and ripped, and added to the server from 2 other Mac computers (a mac mini and a macbook pro) whose iTunes libraries are pointing to the server's iTunes library folder. iTunes content will not be added from the server itself, but the files will be stored there and shared from its library. The current setup allows files that are purchased from iTunes on the macbook pro or the mac mini to download and end up stored on the server. What is not working properly, however, is that the server's iTunes library is not being refreshed with the files that are being copied into the iTunes library folder. The only way to accomplish this is to manually do File->Add to Library, select the iTunes Music folder, and have it detect the newly copied files and add them to the server's library.

The main reason for the server's library to need to be shared is because there are also 2 apple tv's that are accessing the shared library from the server, and so the server's iTunes library needs to be refreshed regularly.

Also, so that content can be added to iPods that connect to the mac mini desktop and the macbook pro laptop, we need to also keep their iTunes libraries up to date by going File->Add to library, and selecting the server's iTunes Music Folder; this refreshes the 2 client machines' libraries with any new content added.

## Deliverables

What I need are 2 sets of scripts (closely related):

1) any new file that makes it into the iTunes Music folder (and all its subfolders) of the server needs to be added to the iTunes library of the server.

2) any new file that makes it into the iTunes Music folder (and all its subfolders) of the server needs to be added to the iTunes library of the 2 client machines.

I know this can be done but I am not versed enough to get it done. As far as I can tell, there are 2 scripts that can achieve this:

1) command line execution of iTunes to add the iTunes Music folder to the library, like the following:

<[url removed, login to view]>

(this script can be run once an hour or so)

2) applescript to check for new files in iTunes Music (and all its subfolders), attached via folder actions or some other means to scan all folders in iTunes music and move any new content to "Automatically add to iTunes" folder. Please reference this:

<[url removed, login to view]>

Best case scenario would be to have option 2 operate on the server, while option 1 can operate a couple times a day on each client machine.

The bottom line is that I do not know how to script in Apple, so a lot of the instructions don't make sense to me. I need the coder to not only write the scripts but also to give step-by-step instructions to a beginner on installing them on the computer.
