We currently use an Excel workbook to collect data from a number of web sources, on approximately 80 worksheets. We then use a macro to sort, filter and organise this data, and output relevant information on a further output sheet, where it is saved as a CSV file for use in a database.
We need some functionality adding to this pre-existing macro, or possibly a new macro written to add this functionality.
The macro needs to do the following:
1. Add a priority flag (a number 1-5) to each line entry in the output sheet. This is taken from the source sheet - each source sheet will have its own priority, and this number will be added to each line entry originating from that sheet.
2. Filter the output sheet by date. We would like to enter to- and from- fields, and all line entries later or earlier than these dates will be deleted from the output sheet.
3. Delete rows based on a number of text strings. We need to be able to specify a number of text strings - for example, "Johnson", "Smith" and "Jones". The macro needs to check if any of these strings appear in a sepcific field of each line entry on the output sheet. If a string appears, even with additional characters, then the line entry needs to be deleted.
Please email and I will be able to forward a copy of the existing file, as it stands - this may make our requirements clearer!
