I'm looking to establish a long term relationship with a good writer to work in several areas of our business. I need someone who is familiar with business software such as CRM or database programs who is able to write user manuals, online help, product descriptions.
You will need to be technically competent - a programming or background in working with SQL and databases would be helpful, as several elements of the tasks will require technical knowledge (for example - writing about a SQL Report writer will require you to understand at least SQL basics). You will need to be comfortable installing and configuring software, setting up email clients, and experience using any kind of workflow system would be a great plus.
Our ideal person will be SEO aware, and able to write good selling copy as well. A dry product how-to is fine for the help file, but boring product descriptions will not fly.
The first tasks will be a couple of test tasks to see how we fit.
