I have installed and setup an IDM instance on my server.
I am using IDM version 8.1
I have done most of the work already.
However, there are a few things with which I require assistance. I will explain them here, in detail :
(1) How to edit/modify that warning message that appears in IDM if, for example, you input and AccountID that exists (or does not exist) in the system?
At the bottom of the Main Tabbed User Form (in fact, most of the User Forms), there is a TEST button. This button checks whether or not a specific accountID already exists.
If you enter an accountID that exists, a message will appear : "accountID found in Identity System"
If you enter a non-existing accountID, then the message : "WARNING! AccountID not found in Identity System"
Is it possible to modify these warning messages, and replace them with text of your own choice? If yes, then where and how could I do it?
(2) I am configuring a Shell Script Resource on my IDM system.
The default scrips were a bit complicated, so I modified my own scripts. I created 5 scripts, one for each function : Create User, Delete User, Update User, Get User, Get All Users.
I started off by testing the Create User script.
It worked (or, it seemed to work). I could see that the user was INDEED created. (Just to be sure, I checked my Unix machine. And, yes, the user was created)
However, I keep getting an error message in IDM, like the following :
Result Code = 120.
Error : [login to view URL]: An error occurred adding user 'mjerome' to resource 'Unix Administration'. [login to view URL]:
Error detected: . [login to view URL]:
Error detected: [Adding account to hosts and creating quotas]
I can't figure out any explanation for this error, besides the fact that, perhaps, it is because I do not have a RESULT HANDLER script in place yet.
And, therein lies my dilemma.
There isn't much helpful documentation on Shell Script. The little online documentation I could find says that : Result Handlers are needed only for two Resource Actions : GetUser and GetAllUsers.
However, other documents claim that Result Handlers are needed for ALL resource actions. (In other words, if you have a Create User resource action, then you must have a Create-User result handler).
I don't even know which of these claims is true. More to the point : none of the documentation even bothers to explain exactly HOW a result-handler script should be created.
