Customised Batch Script

AUTOMATION TASK DESCRIPTION & OUTPUT REQUIREMENT

I'm looking for an application, workflow or script to complete the following process/workflow:

START with 2 (or more) files, for example, [url removed, login to view] & [url removed, login to view] in an existing folder on the desktop called “BASE”

Action 1: Copy the two image files to another existing folder on the desktop called “OUTPUT”

Action 2: Change the file extension of the copied files in the output folder from .jpg to .shtml (they are now essential text files.)

Action 3: Replace all the text of the new .shtml files with new text through a ‘text replace’ action (see text below)

Action 4: Move the original .jpg from the BASE folder to the OUTPUT folder so the output folder contains the two original files and two .shtml files of the same name. 4 files in total.

The action is effectively, open the .shtml file, select all text, delete all text, insert the new text as below, save the file, cloe the file.

(1) <html>

(2) <head>

(3) <title>INPUT TITLE</title>

(4) <!--#include virtual="[url removed, login to view]" -->

(5) <img src="[url removed, login to view]"/>

(6) <!--#include virtual="[url removed, login to view]" -->

(7) </body>

(8) </html>

Line (3) of the above code will require an manual INPUT step in the workflow. This title would be consistent across each batch of files so the title would be supplied once and then used in all the .shtml files

Line (5) of the code will be constant except for the filename which will be the same as the .shtml filename.

In this example the .shtml files would contain the below.

(1) <html>

(2) <head>

(3) <title>IMAGE 01, 02</title>

(4) <!--#include virtual="[url removed, login to view]" -->

(5) <img src="[url removed, login to view]"/>

(6) <!--#include virtual="[url removed, login to view]" -->

(7) </body>

(8) </html>

Filename would be [url removed, login to view]

(1) <html>

(2) <head>

(3) <title>IMAGE 01, 02</title>

(4) <!--#include virtual="[url removed, login to view]" -->

(5) <img src="[url removed, login to view]"/>

(6) <!--#include virtual="[url removed, login to view]" -->

(7) </body>

(8) </html>

Filename would be [url removed, login to view]

Summary of Process

START WITH IN “BASE” Folder FINISH WITH IN “OUTPUT” Folder

[url removed, login to view] [url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view] [url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view] (containing text described above)

[url removed, login to view] (containing text described above)

pretty simple script, however I do not see a point of files copied, I think creating files with <image_name>.shtml would work for this task since whatever you asked is an overkill and will have impact on performance de Mais

I think at Action 2&3, just create a new empty file with extension .shtml, and paste the text content in it should be fine. This task can be done by a VB script at Windows platform, or a Shell at Linux.
