I have a smaller 128GB SSD and so like many people, install games to my HDD. If I'm playing a game, I will manually copy it to my SSD and create a junction/symbolic link to the installation folder on my HDD. This allows:
- to use the speed of the ssd without quickly filling it up
- to keep the installation paths on the hdd so that the process is reversible, by deleting the junction link and moving the files back to the HDD
The problem is that it's sort of a pain and manual process. If I had a GUI to keep track of my applications and games it would be nice.
i.e. GUI that shows:
- Games/apps available on HDD to move to SSD
- Current games/apps moved to SSD with space used and space available
There are already shell programs that will quickly create symlinks in Windows. I'm looking for an all-in-one program to track changes and be user friendly. Any thoughts or programmers that think a program like this would be fairly simple? If so, I would be happy to pay some money for it. I am considering it to be a convenience, not a necessity. Therefore, the simplest way to get it done would be the best. I apologize if I'm being unrealistic with pricing and am willing to work with someone to minimize requirements.
Thank you all for the forum, and thank you reading.
