Hi, if you are an expert with VBA, access and word, this project will be very easy for you.
I have a * very small and basic* invoice database with client, invoice and billing tables set up and need some functionality, user interface and reporting added to it:
Each "client" entry has multiple invoices and each invoice has multiple billing items to it
1) Each invoice sums and adds HST based on the billing items for that invoice
2) Should be able to add a "credit" billing item
3) Should be able to duplicate an invoice for the current period
4) Which template to merge is determined by the field "useinvoicewithaddress" in the client table - it will merge to a different template location.
5) Invoices have an autoID for access purposes but also an "invoice number" which is a pseudo random generated number. I have the code already for that and will give it to you when you are at that stage.
User interface functionality
1) There should be a box upon opening access that asks "Generate new invoice" with a drop down box of clients and then it will ask me to duplicate a previous invoice
1b) should also be a button to "remerge" the word document and gen the pdf without disrupting anything.
2) When invoice is ready, should be able to push a button to a) merge to a word document template b) convert to pdf and c) email attachment to default mail application. (The merge and pdf vba are already done, no need to do this and will be given to you at that stage)
3) Should be able to select from billing items for that particular client from a drop down box when filling it out (or add a new one)
4) Need to be able to add billing items to each invoice
5) Each billing subform should show only which items are on that particular invoice
6) each invoice subform (in client form) should only show which items are on that particular client
7) I should be able to filter out the invoices as well for each client on the subform for viewing purposes like "all invoices in 2017 etc." then if I double click the invoice, it would bring it up and show me all the billing details
1) Should be able to generate reports on a) total $ per year per client and b) total $ per year
I estimate it would take someone with VBA and Access background around 4-6 hours to complete total.
