Generate .png images from ZPL / EPL printer language

I need to generate .png images from the ZPL and EPL printer languages. There is an pre-existing online tool which does this already. However, I need to run my software offline and I can't use this service. [login to view URL] There is an open source Java program which renders ZPL into an image on a screen: [login to view URL] This looks good but I don't want to use Java and also I need to save the images as a .png which this software doesn't do. I need the tool to run locally on Linux. Ideally the code would be written in PHP so that it can be included in my web application. I could accept Python code but would prefer PHP. I don't mind if the code uses existing open source libs, command line tools. The code won't be distributed and so the licensing doesn't matter. For example - you could take the Java code from zplviewer and rewrite it in PHP.
