I am in need of assistance getting my new Windows 8.1 laptop, running IIS 8.5, to run 32-bit for my legacy ASP websites. I have tried troubleshooting this over the past week and realize that I need more help.
Essentially, when I set 'Enable 32-bit Applications' for the default application pool, the app pool services stops when I hit it from a legacy ASP web page (on localhost). This web page is using Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 to connect to a local MS Access database. The ODBC driver is only available for 32-bit, and, thus, why I want to run the website as a 32-bit.
I have tried a variety of settings, following suggestions from my online research, but cannot get things to work correctly. I use my localhost for website development and need this up and running ASAP.
