I have an in-house 1/28-scale RC car prototype built with a 3d printer that performs well electronically but shows inconsistent handling on the track. The root cause is the chassis: several mechanical tolerances are off and I need a mechanical engineer in Hyderabad who can diagnose the issues, redesign the affected parts, and guide me through a small-batch manufacturing run. Scope of work • Axles and bearings – refine fits and concentricity, specify achievable machining tolerances, and update drawings/models accordingly. • Rework on the chassis for minor adjustments for better packaging of electronic parts, battery. • We are also thinking of printing custom domes for the car. This will be a scope for future work once the chassis design is perfected. • Wheel alignment – correct camber / toe errors caused by current suspension arm geometry. • Add front suspension, currently we don't use any suspension. for rear access. we use TPU printed mount which kind of acts as a small suspension which works fine. But, we want to include front suspension. I'll include some images of both our model & some inspirations on what we need for front suspension • Gear meshing – adjust centre-to-centre distances and tooth engagement to eliminate noise and premature wear. current gears work fine but I think due to our tolerances and PLA print. it just wears of quickly. we need to do it with metal gears. • we would also love to have metal version of our model once plastic version is fixed. need inputs on which parts can be made with metal for best reliability and longevity I can supply the current STL and physical samples. Once the updated STL, 2D drawings, and a tolerance stack-up are complete, I’ll need you to coordinate with me for 3-D printing to get a first sample produced, inspect it, and sign off that the achieved tolerances match the design. Deliverables 1. Revised 3D files and fully dimensioned drawings. 2. Tolerance analysis report showing before/after values. 3. Manufacturing liaison notes and inspection checklist. 4. A short hand-off call to walk me through the changes. If you’re within Hyderabad city limits, quick in-person visits will be a big plus. Let’s get this chassis dialled in so the car tracks straight every lap

Having spent six years in the field of mechanical engineering and product design, I can confidently say that I'm well-equipped to solve the challenges your RC car is facing. My proficiency in powerful software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Blender allows me to create finely tuned designs that account for even the most intricate tolerances. Additionally, my hands-on experience with 3D printing and the nuances of material capabilities helps me optimize your designs accordingly. I understand that your primary concern is getting your RC car chassis to perform consistently on the track. My approach will begin with a comprehensive diagnosis: understanding the scale of refinement needed for axles, bearings, gear meshing, and wheel alignment to ensure efficient packaging for electronic components while preserving performance. Not only will this enhance your RC car's handling, but it will also minimize wear and tear on critical parts.

This project matches very well with my background in automobile maintenance and industrial experience with miniature gears and precision mechanisms. I specialize in converting working prototypes into stable, repeatable, and manufacturable designs using strong DFM / DFA principles. I can support you in: Refining axle and bearing fits, concentricity, and realistic machining tolerances Chassis rework for better packaging, stiffness, and weight balance Correcting camber / toe through suspension geometry redesign Designing a compact front suspension system suitable for scale production Optimizing gear meshing and converting to durable metal gear systems Advising which components should move from plastic to metal for reliability Deliverables Revised production-ready 3D CAD files Fully dimensioned 2D drawings with tolerances Tolerance stack-up and DFM/DFA notes Manufacturing and inspection checklist Support during prototyping and final hand-off call With my hands-on automotive background and miniature gear experience, I focus on designs that work reliably on track and in production — not just in CAD. Looking forward to reviewing your STL and samples and helping you dial this chassis in.
