I have a Spring Boot application that runs flawlessly on my local machine, yet once I deploy it the REST endpoints begin returning 404 Not Found. Nothing obvious in the deployment logs hints at missing controllers or class-path issues, so I suspect the mapping is breaking somewhere between the build artifact and the production runtime (possible context-path change, actuator path shift, container rewrite rule, etc.). Your task is to jump into the codebase and deployment environment, pinpoint why the controller mappings are no longer being discovered or routed, and implement a clean fix. Once resolved, I’d like a short technical summary of what went wrong and the exact change set applied so I can prevent a repeat on future releases. Deliverables • Working deployment where every published endpoint responds correctly (no 404s) • Written summary of root cause and the steps you took to repair it • Any configuration tweaks or script updates committed to the repo You will have access to the Spring Boot source (Java 17), current Dockerfile, and the CI/CD pipeline logs. SSH or screen-share access to the staging server can be arranged if needed. Familiarity with Spring Boot’s auto-configuration, actuator, and containerized deployments will be key.
