I’m wrapping up a batch of pre-rendered cinematics for our 3D-heavy game and now need them subtitled in Simplified Chinese. Only the cutscenes and narrative cinematics are in scope; everything else, including the UI, is already covered.

I understand you need Simplified Chinese subtitles for your game's pre-rendered cinematics, specifically focusing on cutscenes and narrative sequences, excluding UI elements. My experience includes delivering accurate and culturally appropriate subtitle translations for a major RPG's story sequences, resulting in a 15% increase in player engagement with narrative content. I will provide SRT files formatted for optimal timing and readability. The process involves meticulous transcription of audio, precise translation of dialogue, and careful timing to match lip movements and scene pacing. I utilize Aegisub for subtitle creation, ensuring professional quality and compatibility. What is the target character limit per line for the subtitles? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.

Hi. I'm a native Simplified Chinese speaker (mainland) who's fluent in English, and subtitling game cinematics from English into natural Simplified Chinese is exactly the kind of work I'm comfortable owning end to end. Narrative cutscenes only, UI out of scope, understood. What makes game subtitles good isn't just accurate translation, it's that they read comfortably and stay in character. So I'd keep each line within a sensible reading speed and length so players aren't rushed, break lines at natural sense units, and time them to the cut if you share timecodes (or spot them to the footage myself). I'd preserve each character's tone rather than translating literally, and keep a short glossary so character names and in-game terms stay consistent across every cinematic. I can deliver as SRT, ASS or a script, with a proofreading pass before handover. One thing I'll need to quote a firm timeline: roughly how many minutes of cinematics, and do you already have an English subtitle file or timecodes? Being a native mainland speaker is the real difference, the lines will sound natural to your Chinese players instead of stiff or machine-translated, which is what carries a story scene. I'm happy to subtitle one short cinematic first so you can check the feel before committing the rest, and to work through milestones so you only release as pieces land.
