It's a fairly straightforward program. The plan is to create a computer program that is capable of monitoring 8 different work stations that are part of a wireless network. The program will allow for monitoring of each station in the following manor: -Indication of whether the station is transmitting -Indication of whether the display unit is switched on -The ability to remotely turn off work stations monitors -Easy to use interface -Ensure that security is maintained throughout the entire operation It can be made in any programming language, and run on windows 7 without any additional software other than a basic install. This sort of system would be capable of being used in the field to remotely monitor, communicate and transmit data between work stations. The key point to note on this sort of system is that wireless security is upheld at all times and that no interception can occur. Programming language can be any as long as it meets the design AND is well annotated with a program walkthrough (e.g. press this and this happens - due to the small nature of our buisness we require this incase any problems should occur in the long run). Additional information i would like to include in the program would be the following: Whether the station is transmitting using a secure wireless connection More information on the work station, eg, MAC address, IP address etc. Their must be a settings window where the IP addresses can be input for the systems being monitored, and also be in a simple to use GUI. Designs of how we would like it to look can be supplied depending on quoted price. All work must not be copyright, and must be individually wrote - where other programs are being called upon, e.g. Tellnet, it must be annotated. When purchasing this program we purchase the right to use it as our own. The code must be annotated as worked through, also must include a manual, e.g. When X is pressed X code is executed. Preferably detailing in depth how the program works.
1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement).
2) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
3) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Employer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Employer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the employer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this project.
Windows 7, fresh install, no other software other than wireless drivers and wireless card.
