I have networking problem that is driving me crazy and have tried numerous solutions on the net to no avail. Below is the problem.
I have a small office with one single ISP that gave us a cable modem. I have two routers.
One router is to connect directly to the ISP cable modem so we can connect to wifi with our phones, tablets and laptops or plug directly into the LAN with the devices.
The other one is used to create a second Local Area Network using Windows 2012 server. I can tell you that I have done a clean install of Win2012 Server and installed AD, DNS and DHCP correctly. All green across the dashboard. IP address is set at 10.1.10.1 gateway and 10.1.10.2 for DNS.
The first router is 192.168.1.1 with a DHCP range of 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.225. The second router is set to static IP of [url removed, login to view] with DHCP turned off. Always after I change the IP address on the second router, I can no longer access the GUI to check or change further settings and I have to reset the second modem.
After the second router has been changed to the static IP and moved over to the Windows Server, I get a "No Connection" or "Unidentified Network" AND always it says "No internet access".
I can get internet access on the second modem if I use it as a "bridge" or "pass through" LAN to LAN connection with the routers, but then I do not have the second "closed" network we need. But when I go WAN to LAN with the routers, I get the second connection but NO internet for the server of the clients.
The clients works perfectly and get their IP addresses leased to them, but they cannot get out to the internet.
If you have a solution, please let me know and tell me how much you will charge to help me fix this problem.
