I run a weekend language club for a small group of 8- to 11-year-olds who already handle present-tense grammar and a modest vocabulary. Our next step is to grow their confidence in everyday French conversation—simple chats about school, hobbies, family and the world around them—while keeping the sessions fun and age-appropriate. Scope of work • Design a short series of online lessons (approximately 8–10 sessions, 45 minutes each). • Use child-friendly conversation prompts, role-play, games and songs to keep the energy high. • Introduce useful idiomatic phrases and reinforce pronunciation without turning the class into a grammar lecture. • Provide quick recap sheets or slides after each class so parents can review at home. • Send a short progress note every two weeks highlighting individual strengths and areas to practise. Key expectations • All material must suit intermediate learners; no time spent on the absolute basics. • Lessons delivered live via Zoom or Google Meet with screen-sharing for visuals. • Native or near-native French accent so the children hear accurate sounds from the start. • Patience, creativity and a playful teaching style that keeps children engaged. Deliverables 1. Lesson plan pack (PDF or Google Docs) before the first session. 2. Post-class recap sheets (one page each, PDF) after every lesson. 3. Bi-weekly progress notes. 4. End-of-course informal speaking assessment (recorded or written summary).
