We have many simple .max and .3ds models that will be used in an augmented reality app. For that to be possible, we need some adjustments.
These objects are mostly furniture. To be realistic, the objects need to have a shadow. This shadow has to be incorporated in the texture. You are going to have to create a white floor bellow the object and cast a shadow.
Render this texture including floor and shadow.
Important step: Remove the floor from the texture (with photoshop or however you prefer). Then, apply this new texture with shadow to the original model. Now the model has a shadow, but no floor.
Export to .obj and .mtl.
It's a simple and fast process, and we have over 200 files like this to be done. If we like your work, we can do all those together.
