I'd like to obtain a single STL design file for a 3D printer, to print a 10x10cm surface packed with nylon joiners for MakerBeam profiles. Packing should leave at least 1mm of space between joiners.
Normally the MakerBeam profile is designed to accept M3 standard screw heads (but please see [url removed, login to view] site for nuanced clarifications on this). I want to be able to bring two MakerBeam beams flush together, with one or more nylon joiners holding the two beams in place using simple screw-less friction. In other words, the joiner should look like two M3 screw heads glued together (heads facing away from each other), with just enough distance between the heads to ensure tight gripping of the two beams placed against each other (length-wise).
If you are willing to divide the print area in two or more "batches" with slightly differing head diameters and head-to-head distances, allowing me to determine which precise dimensions work best, then you will increase your chances of being picked for this project.
I've just added a file showing a cross-section of a MakerBeam. The joiners need to be able to bring two of these tightly together (I'll print using Nylon, not ABS).
