Over a hundred handwritten pages into clean Word, then a proof pass. Straightforward work, but one thing decides the price and nobody can quote it honestly without seeing it: the handwriting itself. Neat, consistent hand and this moves quickly. Cramped script, marginal notes, crossings-out and inserted lines and the same page count takes two or three times as long. So before I give you a number, send two or three photographed pages, ideally including one of the messier ones rather than your best. I would rather quote on the real thing than quote low and come back asking for more. How my team would run it: typing that mirrors the original exactly, chapter headings, paragraph breaks and all, with obvious spelling and punctuation slips corrected as we go. Then a separate proof pass by a different pair of eyes, because the person who typed a page stops seeing its errors. Two things to agree up front: Anything genuinely ambiguous in the handwriting gets flagged in a comment rather than guessed at. A guessed word in a manuscript is worse than a query. Do you want Word styles applied for chapters and headings, so it is ready for formatting or publishing, or plain text matching the pages?
