I am looking for a User Interface Consultant (Usability Experience Analyst- UX) to go throughout my company's software (browser-based application that presents network-oriented information) and make recommendations on the current user interface.
Initially, you will begin with a small portion of the software to make UI recommendations on. We will then evaluate your work and decide whether to give you another part of the software to make UI recommendations.
***Your bid is initially for 40 hours of UI consulting work.
*We want someone who knows what the latest UI standards are. The more you know regarding usability experience, the better. You should have a complete understanding of the modern world of UI and be able to use this knowledge when providing guidance on this project.
*The person I am looking for will only be accountable for making design recommendations and not for any actual implementation of said recommendations.
Brief information about the software product you will be working on:
*We are looking to modernize and standardize our software’s UI and eventually the workflow, using the latest interface standards and visual design standards.
Overall Project Specs:
This project is not finite. We don't know how long it will take. Ideally, the winning bidder stays with us throughout the entire project. We will be breaking this project up into manageable sections. You will be working with others in my company giving guidance on the project (piece by piece) until the entire front end of the software is very user-friendly for the end user. If we are pleased with your initial work, we will give you another section to make UI recommendations. And so on, and so on...
We do not know how long this project will take... This is why I need to know your hourly rate and your availability in the coming months. Can you work full-time, part-time, x hours/week? This is very important for you to mention when responding to this project.
*Please be forthcoming and honest here. If you are only available full-time for the next 4 weeks, please mention this.
Skills the winning bidder will need to have:
Most importantly, the winner will need to have a complete understanding on all aspects of User Interfaces. Additionally, this person should have a general understanding of network issues and solutions. If this person also has knowledge of IBM zOS mainframe, this would be ideal. As I mentioned earlier, this is a very large software package; any knowledge about networking and/or mainframe is a big plus and you should definitely mention this in your bid.
*There will be a substantial amount of back-and-forth communication needed for this project. You will be expected to communicate daily, if not hourly, and if this is a problem, please do not bid!
*Your work with us will remain confidential and you will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement before work on this project will commence! If this is, for any reason, unacceptable to you, please do not bid!
Questions for ALL BIDDERS to answer:
*By not answering these questions, your bid will be promptly disregarded!

2. Is English your first language? Second? Third?
3. What is your bid for 80 hours of UI consulting work?
