A program to allow simple pixel-by-pixel analysis of batches of photographic images.
## Deliverables
A Delphi program, compatible with Delphi 7 or Delphi XE A program to allow simple pixel-by-pixel analysis of batches of photographic images. 1. Selection of image areas: Enable users to view a series of jpeg images, and select from each a single rectangular area of interest. Store the file name and x,y coordinates of the selected area for each file as a line in a text file ( the image area list file) with Char(9) between items so that they can be read directly into a spreadsheet. 2. Batch analysis: Open an image area list file. Read each file in turn. Convert the selected area and put values for the brightness of each pixel into a dynamic array. Brightness = the Luma value (0.299 r + 0.587 g + 0.114 b) obtained after conversion to a BMP format or directly from the jpeg if that is practical. Calculate the overall mean brightness of the pixels and the RMS value ( the square root of (the mean squared deviation from the overall mean of each pixel) for the array. Store the results in a text file ( the image analysis file ) with the same structure and content as the image area list file plus four additional items (again with Char(9) between items): the number of rows in the analysis array the number of columns in the analysis array the mean brightness the RMS value Chelonia (the purchaser) will subsequently develop the analysis section of this program.
