I already have a fresh, unmanaged VPS and I’d like it turned into a reliable, production-ready environment that lets me switch between Windows Server and a popular Linux flavour on demand. Feel free to choose the specific Windows Server release (2012, 2016, or 2019) and whichever Linux distribution you’re most comfortable hardening—Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, it’s all fine with me—as long as everything runs smoothly side-by-side. Here’s what I expect once you’re done: • Clean installation of both operating systems, each fully updated. • Remote Desktop enabled for Windows, secure SSH for Linux. • Sensible default security: firewall rules, basic hardening, and disabled unnecessary services. • Clear hand-over document outlining partitions, credentials, and any custom configuration so I can maintain things afterward. You’re welcome to use KVM, Proxmox, Hyper-V, or a similar hypervisor—whatever gets the job done efficiently on the resources available. If you’ve tackled dual-boot or virtualised setups like this before, I’d love to see it delivered quickly and documented so I can hit the ground running.
