Mixed Reality Scenario: Fire fighting Initial Setup: At the beginning, a box containing a set of tools and equipment will appear to the trainee, as detailed below, for them to use throughout the scenario: Step 1: First, there will be an alarm button. The trainee must interact with it by pressing it directly, or by grabbing it, placing it on the wall, and then pressing it. This action will trigger the alarm system and start the alarm sound. Step 2: Next, the trainee must grab the telephone or mobile phone and dial the emergency number: 0000. Step 3: After that, the trainee will find an electrical disconnect switch inside the box. They need to grab it and place it on the wall. Once placed, it will cut off the power supply and completely switch off the electricity in the environment. Step 4: Following this, masses of fire/light (fireballs) will appear in the same box. We need to label each fireball according to its class (e.g., Solid Materials, Petroleum/Flammable Liquids, or Electrical). The trainee will grab a fire type with their hand and place it in the environment. For example, if they select the electrical fire, they will throw the electrical fireball onto an electrical panel. A new box will then appear containing different types of fire extinguishers. Based on the type of fire they initiated, the trainee must select the correct extinguisher and put out the fire. Once the trainee successfully extinguishes the 3 different types of fires, they will grab the "Solid Materials" fire again and place it on paper, a table, or wood. They will then select the fire hose from the box and proceed to extinguish it. Step 5: Immediately after all the fires are extinguished, a person completely engulfed in flames will appear, running frantically around the room. The trainee must quickly select the fire blanket from their toolbox and chase the burning person for a short duration until they can successfully wrap the blanket around them to put out the fire. Step 6 (Evacuation & Assessment): Finally, the evacuation process begins. The trainee must grab directional arrows and place them on the floor of the work environment to mark a clear path to the exit door. Upon reaching the door, they will find cardboard boxes blocking the exit. The trainee must identify and select this as a "hazard" or "wrong practice." To conclude the training, a set of various evaluation questions covering the entire fire and safety scenario will pop up to assess the trainee's performance.

Your firefighting Mixed Reality training scenario is a compelling application of spatial computing where tactile interaction and high-stakes physics must align perfectly. Having developed immersive safety simulations using Unity and MRTK, I understand that the success of this project hinges on making the transition from the initial equipment box to the active fire scene feel intuitive and responsive. I have previously delivered industrial training modules where I optimized hand-tracking for precision tool handling, ensuring that the digital assets reacted realistically to the user's physical environment and movements. To execute this, I will utilize Unity with the OpenXR framework to ensure robust passthrough performance and environmental awareness. My approach involves implementing a physics-driven interaction layer for the toolset, ensuring that each item in the box has defined grab points and realistic weight properties. I will integrate a dynamic particle system for the fire and smoke effects that responds in real-time to the user’s suppression actions, utilizing spatial mapping to ensure the fire "attaches" correctly to real-world surfaces. The architecture will be modular, allowing for easy expansion of the toolset or the introduction of different emergency variables without needing a complete logic overhaul. Are you targeting specific hardware like the Meta Quest 3 or HoloLens 2, as the passthrough capabilities of each will influence how we handle the fire’s lighting on real-world objects? I would also like to know if you require a scoring system or performance analytics to track the trainee's efficiency during the drill. I am available to hop on a brief call or chat here to discuss the technical requirements and provide a more granular timeline. Looking forward to helping you build a life-saving training tool.

Having developed immersive safety protocols using MRTK3 and Meta’s Passthrough API, I understand the precise nuance required to simulate high-stakes environments like fire suppression. Your initial setup involving a localized toolset is a strategic way to ground the user before the simulation scales, and I have previously implemented similar procedural interaction systems for industrial training modules where spatial accuracy is paramount. I am prepared to translate these physical tool interactions into a high-fidelity MR experience that prioritizes muscle memory, safety adherence, and real-time spatial awareness for every trainee. To ensure seamless interaction with the toolset, I will utilize Unity with the Mixed Reality Toolkit to implement precise hand-tracking and physics-based gesture recognition for selecting and deploying specialized equipment. The fire simulation will leverage a high-performance, GPU-accelerated particle system optimized for mobile XR chipsets, ensuring realistic spread and occlusion without compromising the high frame rate necessary to prevent simulation sickness. I will implement a state-based logic system for the fire’s lifecycle, allowing the training to respond dynamically to the user’s specific choice of tool and extinguishing technique. Finally, I will integrate spatialized audio and haptic feedback to heighten the sense of urgency and environmental presence, ensuring the training translates to real-world preparedness. Will this training target specific hardware like the HoloLens 2 or Meta Quest 3, and do you require backend data logging for performance analytics? I have a few strategies for optimizing the tactile feedback of the firefighting tools and would love to discuss your vision for the fire's behavior. Let’s jump on a quick chat to align on the technical requirements and ensure we build a truly effective training tool.

Hello, I have carefully reviewed your Fire Fighting Mixed Reality Training project, and it looks like an exciting application in immersive training. I have solid experience developing interactive systems in Unity using C#, including training simulators and VR/AR projects. In a previous project, I developed a VR Automotive Brake System Training Simulator (MVP), which was a virtual training tool for teaching brake inspection and repair. The system included realistic interactions with tools and components, multiple interaction modes (press/grab). This type of system is very similar to your firefighting scenario, where the trainee interacts with equipment and performs precise steps inside a virtual environment. I am confident I can implement your project features, including: Tool interactions inside the equipment box (grab/place/activate). Step-by-step scenario workflow. Fire type classification and correct fire extinguisher selection. Real-time fire and smoke visual effects that respond to trainee actions. Handling the “burning person” rescue scenario using a fire blanket. Post-scenario evaluation system with performance tracking. Before proceeding, it would be helpful to clarify a few points to ensure the implementation aligns perfectly with your expectations: Which platform or headset is targeted ? Will the assets (fire extinguisher models, tools, environment objects) be provided, or should I source/create them? Looking forward to your reply.

I can develop an interactive Mixed Reality fire safety training scenario designed to simulate real emergency procedures in a controlled virtual environment. The experience will guide trainees through critical safety actions such as activating the alarm system, contacting emergency services, disconnecting electrical power, identifying different fire classes, and selecting the correct extinguishing equipment. The scenario will include interactive tools, realistic fire and lighting effects, and intuitive object grabbing mechanics so users can naturally interact with alarms, switches, fire extinguishers, hoses, and safety equipment. Cinematic visual quality, clear environmental layout, and responsive interactions will ensure trainees remain fully engaged while learning proper fire response protocols. The training will progress through multiple stages including fire identification, extinguisher selection, fire hose usage, rescuing a person using a fire blanket, and finally guiding evacuation procedures by marking safe exit paths and identifying hazards. At the end of the simulation, an assessment module will evaluate the trainee’s performance across the entire scenario. This project will deliver a structured Mixed Reality training experience with optimized assets, realistic visual presentation, smooth interactions, and clear instructional flow suitable for safety training environments.
