Edit and Save Excel Spreadsheet from Joomla site

I have built 2 Excel spreadsheets in Excel 2010

Spreadsheet 1 is to be opened and edited by a user. After they have entered their data they then run a macro which will copy their data to spreadsheet 2 which is viewed by a manager. I have already built both sheets and the macro to copy the data and this is working on my local computer.

I will save both sheets to the root folder of a Joomla site which will have a link to Spreadsheet 1. The user needs to be able to open the Excel file from the link, edit and then run the macro to copy the data to Spreadsheet 2 in the root folder. The site is password protected. I have not been able to figure out how to build a username and password into the macro to allow it to open and save in the root of a password protected site.

I don't assume that this is very difficult,, I just don't know how and am therefore posting to bid.
