The following VB Macro is needed for Word:
When activated from within MS Word, a form opens that requests the following information:
1) "Current Version" - Field is already filled in with the current Active Document (file name and full path). Note that Normally this document will be named XXXXXXXX.## where X's are letters or words and ## are numbers (between 01 and 99). It would be nice, but not essential to be able to click on a button that would open the "open file" dialogue box to change this field to some other file (other than the then current active document).
2) "Prior Version" - Field is empty (or if possible without creating a lot of additional work the default in this field would be XXXXXXXX.## where "XXXXXXXX" is the same as "XXXXXXXX" above, and .## is .01 less than the "##" above. The folder location would be the same as the folder location for "Current Version"). This field would also have a button that would open the open file dialogue for selecting a different document - note that the starting path should be the path location of the "Current Version".
3) "Location" - Field would be a set default folder location (the default location would be a constant that could be changed only by changing the path as written in the macro). However, by clicking on a button next to the field, the user could select a different folder then the constant location via the open file dialogue box.
4) Execute Button. This button would result in the macro running the Legal Blackline Compare function in MS Word 2003. The output would be to a PDF File located at the "Location". The name of the file would be {"BL" & 'Current Version' & " vs. " 'Prior [url removed, login to view]'). Where 'Prior [url removed, login to view] is the value set forth in the subject field of the metadata subject field of the 'Prior Version' document. If a file by this name already exists, the user should be prompted as such and given the option to save over or rename. The PDF can be created using the print to PDF command (computer currently has a PDF generator as a "printer" in control panel's printers). The macro should use this printer, however, after macro is finished, the default printer should be the same as before the macro was run (i.e. if a HP printer was the default printer before the macro was run, when macro is complete, the HP printer should be the default printer not the PDF printer). The selection of this PDF printer can either be a constant printer location set forth in the Macro code or a field in the form described above (with a set default that can be altered by the user).
